Lake level is 706.18 with water temp in the upper 70's in the lower part of the lake.  The mid lake area is pretty clear. White bass action this past week was out of sight.  Whites and small hybrids were schooled on the shallow humps with some nice hybrids  in just a little deeper water near the humps. Archer is just 5 years old and he, his Dad Tyler, and Matt caught limits on 3/4oz green and white jigging spoons in 15-17 feet of water.  Archer is pictured here with one of his many catches.  The total catch is pictured above with Archer in the right hand corner checking his layout of all the fish.  Needless to say it was an exciting day for Archer.  In the third picture, Scott is showing off his best of the day while Jim was counting the fish.  These whites are in good size schools but really spooky on these bright sunny days, but they don't go far before they settle back down on the bottom. Lake level is 705.73  with water temp in the upper 80's in the lower part of the lake.  The mid lake area is pretty clear.  The hybrid fishing was pretty tough as the live shad prevailed over a sassy shad imitation, but we did manage a few.  The white bass are breaking up into "wolf packs" and we have been able to take three to four before they spook.  Currently these fish are in the pound and a half to two and a half pounds. They are going after green 3/4 oz. spoons and also 1 oz green and white spoons.  Most of the fish have been caught in 12 to 17 feet of water. My crappie fishing has been next to nill, as most of the little fish are taking over the bite.  You have to catch 10-12 little fish before you get a keeper.  So I have used my time to go after the whites and hybrids.  Late September and October will see a change in the Crappie fishing as they begin the

The Dan McCarthy Family from Chicago, IL., spent two days just catching fish and releasing them....well all except the Walleye.  They were my bonus. Crappie on minnows, whites on 3/4 ounce jigging spoons and hybrids on white sassy shad.  It was the first time any of them had caught hybrids.  I can say a good time was had by all. With the lake falling the white bass and hybrids will start returning to shallow humps and the crappie to the brush piles and shallow flats.  I hope the weather cools a tad as it has

Crappie fishing has improved as they have moved to the flats to feed on the shad.  Had nice limits last week in 14-25 feet of water fishing 10-11 feet down with minnows.  A few Whites and Drum seem to find their way into that area also along with some nice catfish.  I did fish some timber areas with mild success also using minnows at the same depth.  Accidently picked up a couple of nice Walleyes also. Lake level is 711.33 and rising with water temp in the mid to upper 60s in the lower part of the lake.  The mid lake area is  lightly stained and some areas are pretty muddy.  We had showers most every day at some point but the fish kept right on biting. Bob & Don The crappie spawn is over and was a real strange one.  The water temperature hardly reached the right point and it was game on and game over.  Seems like most of the crappie are in the 12-14 foot range in 20-30feet of water.  Minnows and jigs and 1/8 oz jigs tipped with minnows are working real well.  Trolling a flicker shad or a shad rap are producing stringers of good crappie.  As far as the white bass, they are hitting spoons of weights from 1/2 0z to  1 1/2 oz sizes with white or green chartreuse working the best.  There are a lot of small hybrids mixed in with the whites at this time.  Big hybrids are eating small

Lake level is 712.09 and water temp is 54 in the lower part of the lake.  The mid lake area is  lightly stained and some areas are pretty muddy. Crappie fishing has been good in the  mid-lake area with the best bite in the mid-day in the spawning coves in 18 to 23 feet of water right on the bottom.  Jigs tipped with a minnow have been the key for us all week.  With the constant change in the weather the water remains variable and not steady and certainly not reaching that 65 degree mark. hours I have an update on White Bass hanging around the Dam area.  Yesterday afternoon (Thursday 4/22) Three of us got our limits in just over two hours on spoons.  Sapps Landing should be crowded this time of the year. Many limits of crappie and white bass are being taken below the dam in the "Dead Water" area, and they are not hard to find.  Just get in with the other 500 boaters and pick you out a 2 foot
