The current Lake Level is 704.65, the temperature in the mid 60’s. Lake color ranges from light stain to clear. Crappie have moved to the points and can be found all along the bare bank bluffs in 18 to 25 feet of water right on the bottom. Casting to the bank and slowly reeling down along the bottom produced good size crappie. Blue ice or blue and white bodies on 1/8th ounce jigs was our best producer. Whites and hybrids are up shallow on wind blown banks with best bait being Rooster tail and Blue Foxes. I understand blues are on fire right now.
The news is, that after 15 years of guiding out of Sterett Creek Marina, I have reach that age for retirement. I have found a really good fisherman to take over Truman Lake Guide Service. More on Tom Lawrence in the next report. It is a bitter sweet decision and I will miss fishing with my friends I have made over the past 15 years.
