The current Lake Level is 706.68 and the average temperature in the upper 70’s. Current reports are really good as the crappie are moving into the trees in both low and deep water. They are also showing up on the flats from 12 ft. down, and shallow humps to 18 ft. Most crappie being caught on minnows. jig fishing with pink, white and green chartreuse tails. Trolling ‘shad rap and flicker shad have produced limits.
White bass are chasing shad at a shallow depth. We haven’t seen very many schooling yet on the flats or shallow humps. Trolling has been our best method of catching whites as well as a hybrid or two. Several guides I have talked to are claiming the clear water and very little current has the white and hybrids scattered. Heavy rains in Kansas could help color up the Osage Arm of the lake which might help.
For those of you who chase the Blu Cats, they seem to be of fire with live shad being the ticket to a 10 fish limit.
