-The current Lake level is 706.52 and slowly rising, with the water temperature in the low 40’s.

Well all I can say is, it’s been one hell of a winter for me so far.  December 30, I went in for a double knee replacement.  After a few post operative complications namely A-fib, which came from out of nowhere, and with that and in hospital rehab I finally got out on January 20, 2023.  Seems like the older you get the longer it takes to mend.  After the hospital rehab came in home rehab provided by Benton County Services. Now have graduated from a walker to a cane and hopefully soon to be able to drive.  I have had to depend on friends to take my daughter to town for groceries and prescriptions.  I need to give a special thank you to my friend a fellow guide Jim Cuda who has come from Odessa, and taken me back to Kansas City for Doctor’s appointments.  I consider him my Special Friend.  Jim is operator of Hybrid Mania Guide Service and I recommend him highly for Hybrid fishing. and fishing in general.

I see from fishing reports that crappie are being taken in the upper lake area a foot to 18 inches, as the water is muddier and therefore warmer.  In the lower main lake area crappie are 18 to 25 feet.  Colors seem to vary.

I hope to be back and ready to go by the first part of April but depends on therapy and how these old bone and muscles mend.  More as we progress.
