Lake level is 704.48. The water temp 53 degrees in the Osage and Grand. The water is slightly colored in the Osage and slightly colored to stained in the Grand Arm. Some of the coves on the north side of the lake are somewhat warmer.
Crappie fishing is starting to look up in the mid-lake area. The crappie are moving off the brush piles and onto the bluffs about 19-22 feet deep a foot off the bottom. Upper lake areas are producing good fish. Looks like the fall feed up is about to begin as the water temperature drops the shad will move to shallows and so will the fish. I used 1/4oz white jig with a Swarmjig white/chartreuse body to catch some really nice crappie.
White Bass are on the windy banks using Sliders, shad raps and inline spinners. I caught a few nice ones on jigs crappie fishing.
Hybrids were moving up to feed on shad in the windblown coves and shallow points. Single blade 3/8oz spinner baits, sliders and shad raps are deadly this time of the year.
With the marinas being closed, please keep and eye out for stranded boaters and it might be a good idea for boaters to have something bright colored to use to get the attention of passing boaters. Battery failures can sure ruin your day on the lake….
That’s it for November 22, 2020 fishing report… Help the other guy when you can. I hope that all of you remember your life jacket works better when it is worn…
Thanks, Ole Bob
