Lake level is 712.09 and water temp is 54 in the lower part of the lake. The mid lake area is lightly stained and some areas are pretty muddy.
Crappie fishing has been good in the mid-lake area with the best bite in the mid-day in the spawning coves in 18 to 23 feet of water right on the bottom. Jigs tipped with a minnow have been the key for us all week. With the constant change in the weather the water remains variable and not steady and certainly not reaching that 65 degree mark.

I have an update on White Bass hanging around the Dam area. Yesterday afternoon (Thursday 4/22) Three of us got our limits in just over two hours on spoons. Sapps Landing should be crowded this time of the year. Many limits of crappie and white bass are being taken below the dam in the “Dead Water” area, and they are not hard to find. Just get in with the other 500 boaters and pick you out a 2 foot area to fish. Just kidding but it is crowded this way every year about this time…
That’s about it for April 20, 2021. Help the other guy when you can and remember your life jacket works best when it’s worn. Bob
